Redirects with different URL formats

    Before purchasing the site redirect I would like to know whether there would be any issues URL formats between two sites.

    My blog on wordpress.com includes the year and the month in the URL, but my new blog does not.

    Can I still set up redirects so that anyone going to

    myBlog.wordpress.com/2/14/some-unique-entry-name

    Will automatically be directed to

    myBlog.com/some-unique-entry-name

    Initially I thought having the date would be useful in case I ever wanted to have duplicate entry names, but after blogging for awhile this was not necessary.

    What would be the best way to set up redirects in this case?
