Reduce Featured Image Size (Goran)
-
Hello,
I have two questions, for which I can’t seem to find the answer in the forums. I’m a bit of a newbie, and I am working with the Goran theme.
1) How do I reduce the size of the featured images that appear at the top of the grid pages? (For example, the image at the top of this page: http://takethecakemedia.com/services/). Is there some useful CSS for this?
2) Is there a way to adjust how much the featured image gets amplified? On that same page, the featured image gets so blown up that the image quality suffers.
Thanks in advance!

Using a featured image of sufficient width evidently keeps the height of the displayed portion small. The minimum width to avoid image quality loss is 1230 pixels as explained below (question #2 answer), while an even wider image might be advantageous. The Goran demo uses images of 1400 pixels wide for the feature image of each page linked to on the grid page.

From the Goran theme support page: “Featured Images for pages are 1230 wide by 1230 high.” Obviously, the height given is a maximum and not required. However, to avoid lowering the image quality by stretching the image, the original should be at least 1230 pixels wide. The example you provided, the featured image for services, is 753 pixels wide, while two of the other feature images for the grid pages are below 800 pixels wide.

I meant that it keeps it relatively shorter, but that conclusion was based on a mistake. Ignore this.
