Reduce spacing between portfolio feature images

  Hello, I am using the Illustratr theme, and would like to reduce the spacing between the portfolio thumbnails, both on the sides, and above and below each one–I have tried inspecting the css on my portfolio page and adjusting the padding, but have not been able to see any change. I would also like the reduced spacing to allow the thumbnails to show at full size.
