Reducing Storage Space Used
-
Hi — I need help! I am allowed 3072MB storage space & saw I had used 3000.08 MB (= 98%). I went to the All Posts page on my Dashboard, & clicked to trash all the posts from February 2012 – December 2013, inclusive except for one. The overview on ‘My Site’ says I have published 200 published & trashed 136 posts — yet the storage space used still shows as 98%. Surely this is no longer accurate? Or do I need to do something else, to make the reduction in space used take effect?

To keep things running quickly around here, files are held in multiple caches through a separate system. These caches are usually cleared within 3 days and the files will then become 404 page not found.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting public blogs and/or blog content from them does not remove indexed content from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. To completely remove an entire page from Google search results after it produces a 404 (page not found):

Hi there,
Deleting posts won’t free up storage space, as posts don’t use storage space. Media files, i.e. pictures you upload to your site do.
The only way to free up storage space is to delete pictures from your media library, but that will also remove the pictures from any posts where you have added them.
The only way to get additional storage space is via our Premium or Business plans:
