Reducing the content of a website page
-
I am trying to reduce the writing on a page with a ‘read more’ tag but can’t see how it works – when I add in read ore the rest of the page still seems to be there underneath it rather than opening when you click on it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @carolb2612
Try this:
1. Go to My Site(s) → Customize(Beside the Themes option) or just click here: https://wordpress.com/customize/. This will open the site Customizer.
2. On the sidebar of the Customizer, click on Content Options.
3. On the Blog Display section select Post excerpt.
4. Finally, click Save & Publish.Hope this helps! 🙂

I am not finding the themes option or customise when I go into my sites – is it because I’m an editor rather than the original author? If so I’ll have to go back to the website holder and see if he can help me.

@carolb2612 I suppose yes, you need to be the admin of the site in order to make changes using the Site Customizer.
An Editor can create, edit, publish, and delete any post or page (not just their own), as well as moderate comments and manage categories, tags, and links.
