Reducing the height of the main image on my home page
-
Hi! The main image appears so large on my home page, that the viewer has to scroll down to access the very important widgets below the main image. How can I reduce the size or even height of this main image? thanks

Beautiful site!
The first thing I would try to do to change the height of the beautiful yellow-flower image would be to edit the image in an external image editing software program such as Photoshop or something similar to make the height less than the 610 pixels you have now. After you edit and save the image, you could re-insert the new image to replace the one you have.
Alternatively, there is also a built-in image editing function inside your WordPress media library that you can use to crop the image and re-insert it. Here is an article on how to edit the image:

@aguavivadesign, it is difficult to change the featured image size with CSS on Sela. I would suggest doing as @catscholz suggests and edit your original image and crop it to a height less than 610px. Sela suggests a width of 1180px, but it will use whatever height your image is. Give that a try and let us know how things go.
