Redundant translations
-
For the past few weeks several users added german translations to GlotPress which don’t differ in any way to the current translation if you check the translation history of these strings. Take for example the waiting strings from ge0ffreys.
Why is that? Shouldn’t GlotPress only allow new translations if they actually improve them?
Cheers

Hi Martin,
Actually GlotPress currently allows entries that matches existing translation, only if the translation is entered from the In-Page Translation Tool.
I understand having to review redundant entries creates extra work on your side as a validator – this has been noted by our developer and we’ll let you know when it’s fixed. -
I see. How about enabling the submit button of the In-Page Translation Tool only, if the user changes the existing string or adds a new one (in case the field has been empty)?
Nevertheless thanks for clarifying the issue. :)

Right, that’s exactly what our developer is looking into implementing :)
Thanks for your feedback!
