REFERENCE TAGGER
-
My site, like many other WordPress sites is a Christian church-based site. Our blogging site was previously hosted by TypePad.
One of the widgets I really miss is the Logos Bible Reference Tagger http://www.logos.com/reftagger. About four months ago I lodged a request for this widget to be added to WordPress, but there has been no action on this request to date.
Given the number of WordPress.com blog sites used by Christians, I am surprised this request hasn’t been acted upon. It’s such a great tool, making our blogs more reader-friendly and saving posting time linking Scripture references.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can you give us a link to your WordPress.com blog? The site linked to your name isn’t a WP.com blog.
-
Sorry, perhaps I’m confused. My site is, http://blog.hillsbiblechurch.org/. The site I referenced in my post is the provider of the Reference Tagger.
Does this answer your question?
-
Yes, that is the link we need. The website linked to your name is not useful for answering support questions: we always need to see the site you’re talking about.
It’s not unusual for staff to sit on requests indefinitely. There are a LOT of these kinds of programs around, so people are probably requesting all different brands.
You might want to try using Zemanta, which is not specialized for bible references, but does this sort of thing automatically with any post at all. It also locates images and videos related to your content. It’s a Firefox browser add-on, so it doesn’t matter if WP.com won’t accept a certain code; it just always works.

Thanks, RC. I tried this but it really isn’t what I’m looking for.
The beauty of Logo’s Reference Tagger is that on a scroll-over, it displays in a small box the full Scripture reference, in the Bible translation of choice, without the reader having to leave the page. You can see this feature in action on many sites. Here’s an example.
http://www.desirespiritualgrowth.com/time-out-for-comic-relief/ See the Matthew 6:25-33 reference in red. This is a specific-purpose widget and Logos provides all the code for this to work on blog sites.

If you use Zemanta or similar linking software AND enable Mshots on your blog, you’ll get the same effect.
