Hi,
~
I need to know, once I code a reference to an image or a pdf file in one of my blogs, how to create folders to upload files to
~
Everyone who has ever dealt with any kind of information understands the file system metaphor and coding html is so easy, that all these little things supposedly “helping” you really get in the way

I can’t even figure out how to setup references based on your gui and you are asking me “a link to the blog”? ;-)
~
Anyway my blog context should be hsymbolicus.wordpress.com and based on your own editing page, the page should be http://hsymbolicus.wordpress.com/about/ , however I can not see what I did (or I am trying to do) saved there
~
and the (admittedly simple) way I understand things, references to images should be like href=”hsymbolicus.wordpress.com/images/myimage00.jpg”, provided I can create a folder and upload myimage00.jpg up there
~
thanks

I meant to say

At wordpress.COM there is no FTP access and we cannot create our own folders. When you upload images, wordpress creates the folders as required and assigns a URL to the image. When you upload the image the URL for that image will be in a field labeled “file URL” at the bottom of the upload window. You can also upload images from media > add new in the dashboard left-hand navigation. The following links should get you started.
