    How can I give credit to someone that referred me but I forgot to use their link when signing up? I have all the correspondence to show that they have earned their credit. Please advise.

    Hi there,

    Are you speaking of the WordPress.com Refer a Friend credit? That credit only get awarded if 1) you create a new WordPress.com account and site via the referral link, 2) you upgrade the site to a paid plan, and 3) you don’t cancel that plan within the refund period. Once all these conditions are met, both you and the person who referred you will receive an automatic credit you can us towards a future purchase.

    The account you used to post here doesn’t own any WordPress.com sites, and hasn’t bought any upgrades from us, so even if you did create this account using a referral link, you wouldn’t be eligible for the credit in this case.

    The only site I see in your account is a WordPress website hosted at Bluehost.com, and connected to your account via the Jetpack plugin. Jetpack-connected sites don’t qualify for the refer-a-friend credit.

    If perhaps someone gave you a Bluehost referral link that you used to buy your hosting plan with them, please contact their support directly for help with this. WordPress.com is another hosting provider, like Bluehost, and not the same thing as the open source WordPress software you’re using for that site :)
