Referral System

  Hi everyone,

  For our new website we need a referral system, but the current available ones won’t do the job.
  I’m wondering if this idea I have is possible to integrate on my website. I’ve been looking all over internet, and I’m finding very similar systems, but not how I am envisioning it.

  The situation:

  We will arrange bustrips for people towards certain locations.
  To join this bustrip, we will have people reserve via our website using Events Manager. (it’s a great plugin btw!)

  After they reserved, they will get a e-mail with further payment instructions. After we received their payment, they print out their e-ticket to join this bustrip. This payment/ticket-thing will be handled by an extern party.

  The idea

  We want to integrate a Referral System for people that make friends etc. also purchase a busticket. This way we can reward those people with free tickets or some similar bonus.

  The problem</strong

  All current available plugins are not designed for our service. It’s mostly for WooCommerce, just website ‘visitors’, not for tracking people who actually make a reserving/payment.

  Is there someone creative over here who has any idea to set up a referral system so we can reward (and track) people who refer other people to make a purchase of a ticket?

  Things I’ve been thinking about that are tell-worthy:

  – We currently use WP-Members to let people register at our site before reserving a ticket, but this isn’t 100% necesarry.

  – We could manually let everyone new that registers fill in a register field with the ‘referral person’, and keep track whenever this person purchases a ticket.

  F.e.: person 1 fills in ‘chris’ as referral.
  Whenever person 1 makes a purchase, we somehow make sure (manually) that we add this to chris’ his account.

  Problem is, this will become very time-consuming when our user base grows. Next to that, this is per user, not per bustrip.

  – The ticket service we are going to use will have the option for ‘reduction codes’ on tickets. So we can make codes that will allow people who have that code to get x % off. Thing is, this is one code, and people could give it to eachother.

  I’m really stuck on this for over a week now, and I’m hoping that somehow has any ideas or solutions!
