Referrals are not comprehensive

  I realize that the “referral” sections wont be complete, but in the last week or so it’s come up with nearly nothing. My blog traffic has actually increased over this period of time, so I wonder why the links aren’t being picked up. Is there any chance something is wrong on the WP end?

  Not necessarily. The referrals are visitors to your site that have come from another place linking to you. If someone comes directly to your site (they have it bookmarked) it won’t show up as a referral.

  Or at least that’s how I understand it.

  Bookmarks don’t show? Thanks! I didn’t know that. I always wondered about that that how does it show when I visit a blog that I have bookmarked.

  That’s probably one of the reasons why the numbers don’t add up when comparing refurrals and actual views.
