Referrer Spam – Nothing can be done.. – My Thread Closed, Why?

  A ‘little’ cheesed off that my original thread – Referrer Spam – Nothing can be done.. – has been closed when it didn’t really address my comment that nothing was being done to stop the Referrer Spam making the stats useless, in effect they are because despite the current ‘filtering’ that was mentioned by someone, there is still spam there and the stats now effectively mean nothing.

  More importantly I feel the reason for closing my thread ‘Due to forum policy’ and ‘report spam through the support’ was highly uncalled for, neither did you explain which policy meant my thread was closed and neither did you close it because of my original comment but because someone else hijacked my thread asking (apparently again) how to report the spam. It was my thread, not theirs. I want the issue of the stats now being meaningless to be addressed, not further reporting of urls. I’m not going to report several urls every single day, this needs to be automated and intelligent.

  I’m afraid WordPress, as much as I’ve loved it, it’s adios and over to blogger. Very disappointed at the cavalier attitude to locking threads without reply from me. Close this one if you feel it’s ‘forum policy’, I really give-up.
