Referrers

I’m sorry if this is elsewhere. I’ve looked and can’t find anything recent or answered to the fullest.
I’m getting NO referrers unless it’s a wordpress tag. I do see the search engine referrals fine.
To test this, I logged out and went to some of the sites who refer me and clicked on them. Waited an hour just to be safe. Went into the blog and there was nothing.
It’s getting frustrating and I’m wondering if I’ve messed up my blog some how.
Would appreciate help or link to help I some how missed.

Your own hits don’t register if you’re logged in to WordPress. I suspect that’s true even if you come into your blog from the outside. As for your “no referrers” problem, lots of hits you get could be coming from bookmarks set by your visitors. Maybe they’re just pasting your URL into their browser’s address window. That’s been my assumption. I’ve always got way more hits than the total of referrers.

Actually – I’m on a group blog and tested the logging out thing over there and it worked.
Also, you honestly believe that I have ZERO referrers for the last 2 weeks? That all those people reading my blog everyday, even when I don’t post, are typing it in themselves.
I would die to have such a loyal following. I don’t really see how that can be accurate. Especially with the big jump in hits I’ve had this week.

OK, had a girlfriend come to my blog via a referrer – nothing. So, no. It doesn’t work.
Anyone know if I turned something off?
