“Referrers” — Some links make no sense

  • Unknown's avatar

On “Blog Stats” it shows “Referrers” — defined as “People clicked links from these pages to get to your blog.”

I’m happy that people looked at my blog, but some of the links seem strange. It is a rock music blog, but referrer links included:
    womenpregnancyguides.com/no/
    latest-payment-proof.co.cc/adzonfire/adzonfire-2nd-payment-proof
    slashingtongue.com/opinion/the-dancing-queens-of-afghanistan
    and many other weird sources.
Again, I’m not complaining, but does anybody know what exactly is up with this? I don’t want my blog generating spam.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    G’day to you,
Some have been experiencing this kind of referrer spam. We are choosing not to identify the sources in forum threads as it amounts to advertising for the spammers. Instead we report these directly to Staff using this link > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Thanks timethief… I will report the spam links to Support.
So are people actually looking at my blog or is it bogus or what?
FYI — this never happened until I registered with Digg. Coincidence?

    I don’t have an answer – sorry.
