Referring URL tracking Issue
-
I understand that Javascript isn’t allowed on WordPress, but I have an issue with the referring URL. I have both site meter and extreme tracking and without javascript they won’t seem to track where my users are coming from. Now the WordPress stats do, but they only pick up randomly where people come from. I know that I have checked my own blog from other computers and tried to test it, but nothing comes up. Any suggestions? My blog is http://wanderlust2point0.wordpress.com. Thanks!

If you have sitemeter, it tracks where your readers are coming from. Go to your stat page and on the left-hand side you’ll see “By World Map” or “By Location” and click on that.

site meter only works if you put it in your blogroll. did you?

The Site Meter referral information is unavailable since Javascript is not allowed. I plan on submitting a request for a Site Meter widget that includes the Javascript. Then, we can just provide our Site Meter ID to the widget and be done.
From Site Meter’s HTML Code page:
Site Meter Regular HTML
The “Regular” Site Meter HTML code is easier to add to a page, but doesn’t allow you to track the original URL from which your visitors came before linking to your site.
The last half of that sentence tells you that you won’t see the inbound click information.
