Refining Search to maximize Cat/Tag search.

As is expected in any forum, I have looked up questions that I myself want answers to before asking them. Since these types of questions are popping up and not really addressed or are just plain vague, and/or not completely answered.

“How to find blogs like mine”, “How to find good blogs”, “How to screen bad blogs”, etc.

Tag and Category search is dandy and all, since it is a live feed of most current posts. But I feel in high blog traffic is overwhelming and my posts and other get lost in the masses and looking for blogs is harder than getting traffic or at least in my opinion.

So here are some suggestion that I find or have found helpful in other sites, where I have found blogs and people of similar interests that was very worth while and becomes more about us (Communities, Friends and Quality Followers) and not just blog traffic. This is not a ‘do all this” nor ‘I demand’ but if this is a subject being freshened up soon anyways here is my p’s and q’s.

Quality or even Quantity (not just the latest poster)
-Some way that when you search you can see that the blog is
    –new/old(neglected)
–number of blogs / or length of time on the blog has been active
–high traffic due to quality, comment traffic, rating, or views
–related to a circle of similar blogs or a part of a sort of community

Tags/Categories for the blog it self.
-No blog repeats (aka post spamming)
-Choice of manual blog by blog search

    Interest or Tag/Cat match up
-Finding blogs/people with similar interests (plural) instead of searching one by one

    Communities, Friends and Quality Followers
-This I am not sure how to exactly go around without each profile to be like a profile social site
-Community or circle of types of blogs to be found easily
    -Adding communities

Good blogs vs. Bad “One mans good blog is another mans bad”
    -Customization of hiding/filter/blocking/skipping
–Some people think a bad blog is merely poor spelling or grammar
–Some people see the same cookie cutter _______ type blog “No more please”
–Some want more personal or less

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
