refreshing main page
-
Has anyone ever experienced this phenomenon where you click on one of your posts and then when you’re ready to return back to your main page and you click the “go back” arrow — it takes you to an incomplete main page with only just a few random posts on it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
When you get to the incomplete main page, if you refresh the browser, does it fix itself?
Does it happen when you try a different browser or an up-to-date browser? You can download one here: http://browsehappy.com/
You can also try these steps to fix browser issues:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/Hope that helps!

Hi! Thanks for your time. Much appreciated.
It does not fix it when I refresh. The problem occurs when I scroll down to a post that then become page 2. So when I hit the go back arrow and refresh even it adds — a /page/2/ at the end of my URL but oddly includes my very first post which would not be on page 2.
I tried it on firefox too and when I did the refries it still did not fix itself.
I will now try the final steps you advised.
Thanks again!

Honeysilvas — still not working! Is there anyway to contact someone at WordPress or do I have just the forum section to ask?

Tried all of your suggestions. Basically anytime someone clicks on a post they can’t back to the full main page. They’d have to type in my URL over again.

1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/
(c) Also please post a screenshot. You can use http://snag.gy/ to share screenshots. Or you can use the WordPress.com guide I linked to and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it. -
I tried all of these things and nothing has worked. I think it’s with the coding because not only after clicking on a link does it take me back to an incomplete home page — but part of a post is a mash up of one down below. It’s all about the second page — where it doesn’t automatically take you back to the home page. It’s so weird! And frustrating.
Took a screenshot but not sure how to embed it in this rectangle. Does this work?

This is just so strange. Can’t get it to refresh automatically after visiting one post. HELP PLEAAAASE!

Hi,
Can you upload the screenshot you made to http://snag.gy/ so we can see your screenshot?
Also, can you answer the questions that timethief asked in (6) so we can assist you further?
I am not exactly sure what you are seeing because it seems to work fine in my browser. I am thinking your issue might be related to infinite scroll, in which case you need to disable infinite scroll.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong with snaggy. I tried to drag it from my desktop but it won’t allow it. It then says to allow an appelet, which I do but nothing happens. (I’m also pretty horrible with this stuff — so keep that in mind!!)
I tried firefox too and it wouldn’t let me drag it from my desktop either.

Can you go to
http://browsehappy.com
and update your Safari to the latest version? If it doesn’t work in the latest version of Safari, try the latest version of other browsers, especially Chrome. It has to be he latest version, so make sure to update your browsers.
-
I’ll try. Now curiously — this is happening when other people go to my site as well. Not just when I do it. If I change my browser or update it — that would affect my computer I get that — but will it change other people’s experience on my site too?

You’re welcome.
Try disabling infinite scroll by unchecking “Scroll Infinitely” in Settings → Reading.
I suspect it has something to do with that, but I can’t say for sure until I see the screenshot.

You don’t necessarily have to use Snaggy, you can use any screenshot sharing site or you can even upload the image to your site then post the link here.

Unchecking it worked!! You’re the best! So appreciative. I was getting migraine. Thanks again!!!
