Refreshing Stats, Clicking Stats Graph sends me to Reader
-
If I try to refresh my stats from the blue bar, I’m taken to my Reader.
If I click on the stats graph in my admin bar, I’m taken to the reader.
The stats appear to be refreshing properly, but the only way to see what’s happening is to refresh the stats, land on the Reader, and then go back to the stats page.
This is a new issue – started maybe a half hour ago.

@shoreacres
In these situations the troubleshooting drill is as follows.1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) How you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(b) And what any error reports you receive state. -

I have just tried loading stats on both Internet explorer and safari and same problems as on the app. Directed to reader not stats.
This is not an individual problem -
I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

I’m using updated Firefox with no add-ons or extensions.
My cache has been cleared, cookies & Java are enabled, etc. I’m on broadband and am having no other problems with WP or with other sites.
I just checked again and the stats are updating properly for me. It’s just that refreshing the stats page throws me over to the Reader, and when I click the bar graph on my admin bar, instead of getting the full stats page I get the reader.

@tt – thanks! As luck would have it, it’s only an irritation and not a crisis. Have a good weekend!

Looks like someone has been fiddling with the code without testing first – AGAIN! So annoying!

Having the same problem. It was working perfectly all day yesterday, then I woke up this morning and Stats are being redirected to Reader. My settings and browser what-nots have not been changed.

I have noted timethief’s response and I am going to sit back patiently and hope it gets resolved soon. :-)

Same issue here since latest update. Can’t access stats on iphone. Only posting to add weight to issue so that it gets fixed quickly.
-
Looks like it was a simple fix. My stats are refreshing normally now, and the graph in my admin bar is taking me to my full stats when I click it.
Hope it’s good for everyone else. Thanks, folks.

I’m sorry some of you have been running into this issue. I’m not able to reproduce it, and I’ve seen some reports that this has been resolved.
Would those who have posted in this thread please try it again, and if it doesn’t work, try logging out, clearing your browser cache, and logging back in to see if that fixes it?
If not, please post an update in this thread with the following information:
1) the device you are using
2) if it’s a laptop or desktop computer, whether you’re on a Mac or PC and the browser and browser versions you’re using
3) If the problem persists when using another browser. -
@jackiedana ~ Just a note to say that when the problem cleared up for me a few minutes ago I didn’t have to do anything, i.e. no cache clearing, etc. One minute it wasn’t working, then it was.
I just double-checked and it’s fine for me on my PC desktop w/updated Firefox. It’s working in IE, too.
