Refund

A payment was taking from my account for £100.
I’m closing the account down as it’s not used at all and would like a refund.

I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

  • Hi there,

I checked your account, but the account you used to post here has never bought anything from us on WordPress.com, and we don’t even have a credit card on file for you.

You don’t own any sites hosted on our servers, but you do have a site connected here via the Jetpack plugin, that’s hosted by Bluehost.com. So I’m guessing that payment is likely for your hosting plan with them.

Can you contact Bluehost support for help with this instead?

I have not received any emails at present

  • Hi there,

To confirm, it wouldn’t be the email connected to the account that you are contacting us from now. Do you happen to remember the email connected to the site and upgrade under the other WordPress.com account?

  • Hi there,

It sounds like the account you are trying to access is one that uses an email address you no longer have access to you.

We are happy to help you with a cancellation/refund once you have access to the correct account, but we are not able to help you regain that access here in the support forums, as verifying account ownership requires us to ask you to provide info that is best not shared in this public venue.

With this in mind, please fill out this form here to the best of your ability: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

This will send all the info you have to our account recovery team, and from there they will contact you directly to assist you in regaining access to the account that owns the upgrade you are trying to manage.

On that form you will be asked to provide a transaction ID for your purchase, which you can typically find on your credit card statement. More info on how to find that here: https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id

Providing a transaction ID (on that form) is the fastest way to verify your account ownership and get the fastest help possible. From there we are happy to help you with managing this renewal. Thanks!
