  I wasn’t aware I would not be able to put ads on mywordpress blog. I would like to cancel my blog and have my $17 refunded. I find weird you can put ads on blogger for free, but when you actually pay for your service you can’t

  You can cancel your ownership of a domain purchased at WordPress.com and get a full refund within 2 days of purchase.

  After cancellation, there is no guarantee the domain will become available to re-register. Is that okay?

  Note that it’s possible to keep the domain registered here at WordPress.com and switch to another web hosting provider at any time by updating the name servers.

  If your reason for canceling is that you made a typo in the domain name, you might consider keeping that domain to make it so other people who make the same typo will still get redirected to the right place.
