    Greetings, I canceled my personal plan. I wrote a detailed email yesterday & I keep getting automated replies. Can I please chat or talk to a live person please !!. Or please call me at(redacted) or message me. If you take a detailed look at my payments & refunds, I still need to be refunded $33. As $15 was refunded when I changed the domain name & I didn’t pay that $15. But I paid $48 for the personal plan & so $48-$15 = $33. Please take a detailed look at all my transactions on both pages. So WP.com owes me $33. Please contact me at the earliest ! Thank you !!

    Thanks for getting in touch. I’ll be happy to take a closer look at the account with you.

    Here’s what I see:

    – $48 refunded for personal hosting plan and culinaryjoys.online
    – $19 refunded for domain registration of umasculinary.com
    – $96 refunded for premium hosting plan.

    The domain associated with the premium hosting plan was not cancelled with in 48 hours of purchase and that’s why the $33 was not returned. The logs show the domain registered 2023-07-07 13:39:44 and cancelled on 2023-07-10 14:45:05.

    The domain can still be used at another provider. To point that to a different host you’ll just need their DNS details. Then follow these steps: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/#change-my-domain-settings and click on the Manage DNS blue box.

    Ok if the domain is not cancelled, then can WP reinstate the personal plan (without any additional charges ) because it is already paid for until next year. Also what is the cost to transfer my domain to another registrar.

    But, I don’t understand. The WP website says, we have 96 hours to cancel a domain & that’s why I thought I got the full refund of $19 which I paid for the domain registration. Also I had already downgraded to personal annual plan which I cancelled after canceling the domain, so I think I should get the $33 refund as I have canceled both the plan & the domain in a timely way. Please look at all my transactions starting from July 6 until July 12. Thank you.

    FYI, culinaryjoys.xyz was the domain associated with the premium plan. I cancelled culinaryjoys.xyz & downgraded the premium to personal plan for umasculinary.com. But culinaryjoys.xyz has been deleted & is available for purchase. But the domain name umasculinary.com is the one still available though I got the domain name registration refund ! Since the domain associated with premium plan is no longer associated with me & is deleted, I am eligible for the complete refund of $33 ! Now I canceled umasculinary.com & I received the $19 refund, but still the domain is associated with me. Please it has been less than a week since all these transactions. I would greatly appreciate the $33 refund and please cancel all the domain names. Thank you !!

    Hi Zinnia, I canceled because of the limited features & options available with Wp.com for a higher cost as compared to Bluehost or Hostinger. So please either refund me the $33 & cancel all domain names or reinstate the personal plan for the active Domain name ( umasculinary.com if I am right ) since the domain name & personal plan is paid for 1 year ( don’t auto renew for next year ) . As I am new to WordPress , I will at least have the opportunity to test the available themes & plugins. I can’t afford to lose my money and also the personal plan and also sign up with Bluehost. Thank You !!

    Also, Zinnia, in continuation of my above message, I don’t think wp.com charging me $33 just for a domain name for 1 year is not fair ! So as I said, please kindly cancel all domains & issue me the $33 refund or reinstate with one year personal plan with no auto renewal since it is paid for. Thank you !!

    Zinnia, in addition to the above options regarding the refund, I was thinking, wp.com can charge me a reasonable price just for the domain name, Umasculinary.com ( Namecheap & others are offering it just for a few dollars ) & refund me the rest of the money. This way, I can signup with another host & self host so I will have access to more WP.org features at a very good price & after 60 days I can transfer the domain to Bluehost or Hostinger etc. I would greatly appreciate wp.com cooperation in this regard. Either of the 3 options is alright with me, though I would appreciate the option of complete refund of $33 & cancel my domain name & all plans. Thank you !!

    Apologies for the confusion. You are correct that the domain cancellation period is 96 hours, but I can also confirm that you cancelled your domain after this period had expired. The domain was purchased on July 7 and canceled on July 10, roughly 98 hours after the original registration.

    This way, I can signup with another host & self host so I will have access to more WP.org features at a very good price & after 60 days I can transfer the domain to Bluehost or Hostinger etc.

    We are not able to refund the cost of the domain, but if you wish we can restore culinaryjoys.xyz to active status under your account. This will allow you to use it with another hosting provide and transfer at a later date when that is possible.

    Thank you so much !. FYI, there is already a website called culinaryjoys.com, so I didn’t want to have another domain with the same name even though with different extension, that’s the reason I canceled that. So instead of culinaryjoys.xyz, please assign culinaryjoysnmore.com This will also help me with the channel I have on YouTube right now called culinaryjoys featuring recipes and more. Yes, I would like to have both domain names umasculinary.com & culinaryjoysnmore.com Thanks a lot !!

    Also FYI, just to clarify, on Friday morning on the July 7th, I got the culinaryjoys.xyz & on Monday morning on July 10, I changed to umasculinary.com. It was not 4 whole days, for 96 hours it will be Tuesday Morning. So still it is within 96 hours. Also I downgraded from Premium to Personal so got refund of 48$ and not 96$. See all the transactions from July 6th. So I should be really getting the balance $33 refund, if not then as u say, please assign the 2 domain names umasculinary.com & culinaryjoysnmore.com to me Thank you & I appreciate your cooperation.

    Actually, you were refunded in full when you canceled the domain umasculinary.com. We only kept the price of the culinaryjoys.xyz domain. We can restore umasculinary.com instead of culinaryjoys.xyz if you want, but we can’t restore both without another payment for the umasculinary.com domain.

    If you’d like to restore just umasculinary.com, we can restore it instead of culinaryjoys.xyz as a courtesy since you had both registered with us. Alternatively, we can restore culinaryjoys.xyz, as this is the domain that was not refunded.

    If you’d like to keep both, you’ll need to pay $19 (which was refunded) for the umasculinary.com domain. Let us know if you’d like to do that, and we’ll send a payment link via email.

    Good morning & Thank you for the response. I apologize about the deletions & any inconvenience, since this my very first time using wp.com & I am still learning. But FYI, I went over my transactions in detail & I found that, Friday morning on July 7th, I signed up for culinaryjoys.xyz & I canceled on Monday morning, i.e., on July 10th which is about 72 hours! I have canceled the domain within 96 hours. So I have canceled my domains & plans within the correct timely limits as per wp.com, but still wp.com is withholding my $33, if you see the complete billing history of payments & refunds staring from July 6th. This is not right. I had also canceled the domain umasculinary.com on July 12, but I don’t know why it says parked. I don’t want either of the domains umasculinary.com or culinaryjoys.xyz & the personal plan since I have already deleted. Please check. So please, I kindly request you to speak to your manger or higher authorities & refund the $33. That will be best for both of us. If not, I want to speak to the manager personally. I greatly appreciate your cooperation. The reason I canceled my domains & plans is that the themes & options & plugins was too limited & expensive at wp.com & I wanted to self host my website using wp.org. Thank you & Regards !

    FYI, here is the detailed timeline of events:

    July 6th about 1 pm – signed up for culinaryjoys.co & personal plan : +$48 charged

    July 7th morning about 7:30 am – deleted culinaryjoys.co & personal plan : -$48 refunded

    July 7th morning about 7:30 am – signed up for culinaryjoys.xyz & premium plan : +$96 charged

    July 7th morning – downgraded from premium to personal plan: -$48 refunded

    July 10 morning – deleted culinaryjoys.xyz: – $15 refunded

    July 10 morning – signed up for umasculinary.com $: +19 charged

    July 12 – canceled umasculinary.com & also the personal plan: – $19 refunded

    As you can see, I have canceled the domains within 96 hours promptly & also the plans within cancelation period. Again I apologize for any inconvenience. Please kindly refund me the $33. Thank you !!

    Upon further examination, I have proceeded with the refund of the $33 charge. However, please be aware that it might take approximately 7-10 days for the credited amount to be visible in your bank account.
