  Hello, I made a mistake when registering my site lampcitynews.com and I want to refund my 18 dollars and then purchase the domain thru wordpress.org to customize my theme. Please advise. Thank you.

  Hi there,

  Please note that you wouldn’t be able to register or host a domain through WordPress.org (they do not register domains). The best way to move to WordPress.org is to keep the domain registered through us (for at least 60 days – ICANN (the governing body over domains) places a 60 day lock on all new domain registrations and renewals to prevent fraud. This is a requirement placed on all domain registrars, so there is no way to waive it.) and just host your domain elsewhere. Here’s a list of recommended hosts:

  After the 60 day lock period you can always transfer your domain to another registrar.

  Please do not cancel your domain with the hopes of registering it elsewhere because it can sometimes take weeks for our registrar to release it.
