I need to request a refund on a charge that I am not sure why I got. Why is it so hard to reach a customer support contact?

I would be happy to assist you in canceling and refunding your purchase. However, the upgrade that was purchased is not associated with the account you contacted us from. To confirm ownership, post in this thread under the username/account that purchased the upgrade. Then, I can look into refunding the subscription purchase.
If you aren’t sure about the charge on your bank statement, you can fill out the form at wpchrg.com and it will help you find the correct account along with what you were charged for. You can also reach out to billing support there directly.

Possibly that email and (email visible only to moderators and staff) are both connected to my account.
I have no idea how I purchased an upgrade but do not need that or the domain name at all.

I went ahead and cancelled and refunded the renewals for the domain
theanxietypotato.comand the WordPress.com Premium plan. You should see a separate email sent to(email visible only to moderators and staff)with that refund receipt. Please note it may take 7-10 days for the credit to show up in your bank account.Note that also cancels the domain and you no longer own it. Additionally that domain would not be available for repurchase right away, so if you still wanted to use the domain – just not here at WordPress.com – we can let you know what options you have.
