Refund for domain name
-
Yesterday I bought the domain happydayweddingfilms.com. I’ve heard really great things about WordPress and was honestly a little confused about the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org. I didn’t realize domain names bought from wordpress.com would be so difficult to customize and update. I also didn’t know that you couldn’t upload custom website themes to wordpress.com. I would really like a refund for my $17 that I paid for the domain so I can purchase the domain from a third party company. I read that there is a 48 hour return policy and the support team is out until October 29th, so I’m not sure how else to request a refund.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Do NOT cancel the domain name. It may end up being 60 days or more before that domain name would again be available.
You can get a refund on the domain mapping ($12) and then point the domain name to whatever web hosting company you choose. Domain names are portable and it doesn’t matter where they are registered. You can always point them wherever you want.

Could you please contact us via http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ to request the cancellation?
Note: You’ll need to be logged in as the user who purchased the domain to see the contact form.

@jjwright85, the support form is closed till the 29th so should use [email address removed]?

Could be, but if that’s the case, they would have to go in through the “Store” rather than through the normal contact page, wouldn’t they?

@happydayweddingfilms, I’ve sent you an email regarding your domain purchase. Please continue the conversation there.
