Refund for ‘FREE’ domain that was automatically renewed for $22
-
I was unaware that I would be charged for the domain, as well as the site automatic upgrade. I have already canceled my site and the $26 is being sent back. But if they took $48, I would like to receive my additional $22 for the domain that was supposed to be free. I am canceling my wordpress completely moving forward, but I want my money back. Thanks.

Hello there, custom domains are included in the WordPressdotcom upgrade plan for the first year and then are paid for separately at renewal.
Are you planning on using that domain somewhere else on the internet? If so, you should not cancel it but transfer it to a different domain registrar. Let us know if you wish to keep the domain or do not wish to use it any longer.
I’ve also flagged this thread for Staff input. Thanks for your patience while they get back to you.

Thank you. I am not planning on using the domain anywhere else. I actually have not been using the site and was only keeping because it was free in case I began using again in the future. I did not realize I would end up being charged. I appreciate the help and will wait for staff to respond about refund.

The domain is completely canceled, so we were able to refund the rest for you. Cheers :)
