    Hi there!

I’ve checked your account and confirmed we didn’t charge you in Rands. The original transactions were $48 and $19. You can verify this on your receipts here and here. So when you canceled and requested a refund, we refunded the same amount in the same currency, $48 and $19, respectively.

If you were originally charged in Rands, that would have been your bank/credit card company doing the conversion for you, not us. Your account currency is USD, so that’s the currency we charged you in. You’ll want to contact your bank to understand why the original payment and the refund currency are different. As far as we’re concerned, both the payment and the refunds were in USD.

On a separate note, would you mind telling us what led you to cancel your WordPress.com subscriptions? If you still need a site, we’d love to help! Feel free to tell us more about the site you need. What’s the site for, and are there any specific features you’d like to have on your site?

Once we know more about your site goals, we’ll be happy to share specific suggestions.

If you’d like us to build the site for you, please check out our website-building service, Built by WordPress.com Express.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, just for me to clarify, I was charged $48 and $19 respectively, so I paid in USD converted to Rands $48 USD= R887.92 ZAR and $19.00 = R351.47 ZAR.

So what went off my account was R887.92 and R351.47.

The problem is with the refund, I was refunded R48 and R19. I have screen shots from my bank showing such.

    [redacted]

the reason I cancelled was the site is for a non-profit charity, and we got someone that offered to help and design and host for us, that we didn’t need to pay. when money is tight every bit helps. the amount I spent was quite a lot too.

I’d really appreciate if this could be resolved as soon as possible please.

  • Thank you for that screenshot. It looks like the correct amount of money is being refunded, but the wrong currency symbol was sent in the message. We’ll reach out by email with ARN info so you can confirm with your bank.
