refund of an automatic renewal

  Hello, is it possible to get refund for automatic domain renewal? I would like to cancel my domain http://www.stylingactually.com because I don’t use it anymore. Unfortunatelly I didn’t know that the renewal payment is automatic. Thank you for your response.

  Hi there,

  After looking into your account, I found that the automatic renewal has been voided. Please keep this in mind about domain expirations:

  * Domain expirations don’t happen immediately. Registrars have a grace period of 30-–90 days during which they’ll hold on to the domain and give the owner a chance to renew it after it’s expired. The domain isn’t usable by anyone else during this period, and it wouldn’t be pointing to your site during this time either.

  * Once that grace period is up, there is a good chance that the domain could get purchased by someone else before you have a chance to re-register it, in the hopes that they can charge you more to get the domain back.
