Refund on Auto-Renewal

  • Unknown's avatar

My account was auto-renewed without my knowledge, but when I go to cancel, it says I am not eligible for the refund. I understand that the initial purchase was made a year ago, but I had de-activated my wordpress.com account, so I don’t understand why it is suddenly activated and being charged. Is there some kind of customer service line that I can call to speak to somebody?

    Hi there!

I am happy to help with any refunds or cancellations you’d like. Could you confirm that you want me to cancel your Premium upgrade (which includes your custom domain, currently), and refund you $99? Or, are there pieces of the upgrade, such as your domain name, you’d like to keep, while canceling the rest?

Also, please do let me know if you’re referring to screamqueenmagazine.wordpress.com which has the custom domain, screamqueen-magazine.com/ .

If you do cancel the entire package, your custom domain will expire on 8/16/2014. Once a domain expires, it may not be possible to re-register it, so if you’d like to keep the domain, but transfer it from WordPress.com, here are the instructions:
    en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/

On a side note, WordPress.com user accounts cannot be deactivated, so there may be some confusion here. If you want to cancel your domain, or get rid of your WordPress.com site, I can give you direction, however!

Please let me know specifically how you’d like me to proceed, and I’ll assist!
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.
