Refund policy for WordPress.com Business – Conflicting Information

Well, wasn’t the whole point of going here so you wouldn’t have to pay for someone? I do know several designers who could handle this, or if you actually registered the blog and posted this specific issue in the CSS forums, staff or a volunteer could help you with that. They won’t help you before you have a blog, because the code necessary for this depends on the theme. Anyway, there is some CSS support that comes with the upgrade, although it isn’t always fast.

I appreciate your insights. It sounds like you’re suggesting WP.com might not be right for us and I’m open to suggestions and recommendations based on what I’ve specified as our needs above.

The primary objective is to produce the website we need within our budget. I was unaware that it could cost merely a few hundred dollars for a designer and would be interested in pursuing that.

Then my suggestion is to go ahead and register a blog here once you know exactly the URL you want. If it’s say, whatever.com, then register whatever.wordpress.com as the blog and from the dashboard of that blog buy the upgrade package you want. In this case I think the basic Pro version for $99 will accomodate everything you need; if it turns out you need more, staff can help you upgrade your bundle taking into account what you’ve already paid.

Then, pick a theme as soon as possible as all customization has to be unique to the theme. Then post your question about how to make a timeline in the CSS forum. Staff and volunteers will help you then. You may not need to pay a designer, because frankly the first name that popped into my head to recommend is a volunteer there. There isn’t anyone better.

Okay. Using the domain name kennedycenterhonors.org I will purchase an upgrade package from the dashboard of the blog with the understanding that I can receive a refund based on your refund policy as stated on the page titled “Support: Available Upgrades: Refunds” and as stated by jackiediana at 2:20pm on this thread “you will have 30 days in which to request a refund, which will include everything but your custom domain, which is refundable for only 48 hours after registration”.

Thanks very much for your help.

No, you won’t. FIRST you need to register a blog at kennedycenterhonors.wordpress.com and THEN you can buy upgrades.

Once I am at the right point in the process, how can I contact the specific person you are recommending in the CSS forum to help me make a timeline?

  • Unknown's avatar

Sorry, that was me using the new WP account.

You cannot. You just make a post in the CSS forum laying out specifically what you want to do, and you wait.
