Regaining access to a community website

The Village Hall management committee needs to regain access to this website because the original setup was created by someone who is now not on the committee or communicative. We need a new username and passwords so that we can update the site. -
If you have access to that person’s email address, you can try and run a password reset for the account that was used to create it. Otherwise, you will likely have to wait for WordPress.com staff to respond; you might try and submit a ticket and see if they can help you faster.
Click this link and then click the button that says “Get Help” to submit a support request.

Contacting the actual owner of the site is your only recourse. Staff cannot violate the privacy policy and provide the email address of the owners of the site. Staff cannot make anyone a user of a site; only the owners of the site can do that. Contacting Staff will not be productive in this case. More to the point is that one usually gets answers here more quickly than submitting a ticket.Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and their associated email address.

The website is for our Village Hall and the ‘owner’ who set it up was the chairman but he’s since resigned and is now very ill in hospital.
