Regaining an expired domain- HELP!
-
I did it. I let my domain expire and someone bought it. I have no idea how to go about regaining it without putting me out hundreds of dollars. I’ve thought about buying a new one, but this is special- my name. So I’m determined to buy it back before redesigning my site.
I’m also computer challenged and have no idea what I’m doing. The main reason I lost the domain to begin with was from sheer ignorance. Please help if you have any suggestions. I spoke with someone at wordpress a few months ago and they informed me who purchased it, but I don’t remember. How do I find this information and go about buying back the domain without getting screwed. Thank you!!!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When you allow your domain expire, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.
I’ve tagged this thread in the sidebar with modlook for Staff attention.
If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

Several sites say it’s available but are offering a service. But then on other sites it says it’s not available. Not sure how to go about this.

That domain is in redemption and it was registered through GoDaddy. Have you been in touch with their support. The most recent connection it had to WordPress.com was when you were mapping it here (but not registered).
