Regarding Business Plan in WordPress
-
Hi,
We’ve been running a portal with ‘Mystique’ wordpress theme since 2013. Basically, it is an online magazine in ‘Kannada’ – A language spoken by 65 million people.
Right now we are planning to upgrade to ‘Business Plan’ which is being offered at $24.92 per month, about $299.04 per annum. Before upgrading to Business plan, we would like to know about few things:
1. Can the portal name be retained as is ? (We don’t want to change portal’s name)
2. Modes of payment available
3. Available Renewal modes
4. Any other extra costs/charges?
5. Regarding Google analytics – is it part of Business plan or to be paid separately?
6. List of premium themes – is it part of Business plan or premium themes to be paid for separately?
7. Any pointers or useful info regarding utilization of business plan(ex: demo links, PPTs etc)Request you to help us with details regarding the above, so that we can make our decision at the earliest.
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
It looks like you added the tag as @timethief instructed, but you haven’t posted any follow-up questions. What else would you like to know?
I’m not sure what you mean by running a “portal”. If you want a site where people can sign up for memberships and the like, WordPress.com is not the right host for your site as that’s not possible here. We don’t have any option to have a forum on your site or to have visitors contribute content.

Thanks timethief for the response.
Hi Kokkieh,
Its online magazine as I had also mentioned in my post.
Need more clarity on selection of themes. Upgrade to Business plan will give unlimited access to advanced premium themes. So if we change the theme say from ‘premium theme1’ to ‘premium theme2’, do we need to pay for the new theme again or payment for Business Plan covers cost of themes as well?
Thanks,
Annadanesh -
As long as you have the Business plan active you can switch from one Premium theme to another as often as you want without needing to pay anything extra. The only point at which you’d need to pay for a Premium theme is if you were to cancel the Business plan.

Thanks for this much needed clarification. Need few more such clarifications.
This is our online magazine link, hosted on wordpress – https://honalu.net
It’s a primary registered domain with wordpress. Hope this remains same even after upgrading to business plan ( we want to retain the same URL )

Upgrading to Business won’t change your site’s URL.
I recommend you use the same username that already owns the domain to buy the Business plan, however. If you do that the domain will be bundled with your plan, which means renewing the plan will also renew your domain every year, so you won’t need to pay for the domain separately.
