Regarding Copyright and Fair Use

    Good day to you all.

    My webpage is chiefly focused on creative writing, and while I am 100% non-profit, I simply cannot bear the thought of someone stealing my work. I therefore wonder whether WordPress enables me to swing the hammer of Copyright and Fair Use in the unlikely event that someone rips me off. As I pour a lot of my time and energy into this project, I wish to just have this question answered, so that I may sleep easier at night.

    You misunderstand. You automatically hold copyright to whatever you create and it is you who must enforce any copyright infringement actions in court, not wordpress.com. If someone infringes on your copyright and their site is not hosted here then wordpress.com does not have any role to play at all.

    Ah, brilliant! I shall be sure to read the links you have given me. The only thing I really worried about was what constituted my copyright, whether the domain or simply myself, so thank you very much.
