Regarding current domain transfer

  Hi,

  Currently, own a domain that was purchased from godaddy.com and it’s hosted through Wix website which is up and running. Looking to transfer the website from Wix to WordPress using the same domain that I currently own. Wanted to know if it is possible to create the website using WordPress and then connect it to the purchased domain? Till this bring the wix website down?
