Regarding ftp password reset.

  I have lost my ftp password but I can reset the password. Will the change of password affect my wordpress database?
  I need to access my website through ftp because I messed up the theme code. Then I realize I do not have the current ftp password though I can still reset it.
  I was told that resetting ftp password might affect my wordpress database, is that true?

  Things like FTP and “changing the theme code” are not possible here at WordPress.Com.

  Your hosting provider for the pages you are asking about should be able to answer your question.
