I have the same problem. Update box appears when I start WordPress, I click OK, it starts the download, then it closed down with no update. Every time I start WP it does the same thing. How do I manually update? Thanks.

There is no need to update WordPress on WordPress.com as we managed that for you automatically. That said, I think you are referring to sites hosted elsewhere – we can’t really help with that.
@frelononline I can see a site with Premium plan on your account, can you confirm what is the address of the site with the issue?Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:

Yes, it is the frelononline.com site on Windows 10, 64 bit. This is not a serious issue, it’s just when I open WordPress, I get this pop-up box to update to 5.1 and then it does not update. I checked the Help menu, About and I’m running version 5.0.0 so I would prefer to update. That’s why I checked the forums to see if this was a common issue and saw a similar question by avengedrev1230.
Since I’m running a WordPress.com site, is there a different forum to go for general issues such as this?

Looks like I had versions 4.7 and 5.0 installed. I removed them both and reinstalled 5.1 from your link. All good now.
