I resolved this error by merely reloading dashboard with a refresh then navigating back to the jetpack dashboard. the issue rectified itself after 2 minutes. This may not help but i hope it potentially points out an issue that may just be merely caching or installation tasks finishing up.

Can you please temporarily deactivate all other plugins, just to be sure that Jetpack is the cause? – Which web host are you using? Can you check that they are updated to PHP5 and are not still running PHP4?

Actually for ME personally the issue went away after waiting for 120 seconds. It was like the plugin was still loading and the site eventually recovered. I noticed other users asking about this question, yet, i wanted to make sure my experience was documented by the jetpack team that if they refresh the main dashboard and then wait 2 minutes and try again it may help.
Beyond that i have thoroughly enjoyed the new upgrade to 1.2
