Register as an individual and become an Ltd later

    Hi there! We want to create the website for business use now, however, the company is not registered yet. Can we buy the WordPress Business plan as an individual and change the contact data to the Ltd one later as soon as we have it? What should be done to do so? Thanks!

    Hi noframestv,

    Upgrades are connected to a WordPress.com account rather than a specific business. However, your contact details can be updated at any time from the Account Settings page:

    https://wordpress.com/me/account

    And payment information can be changed from the bottom of the Manage Purchases page:

    https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing

    There is an option to add a new credit card at the very bottom, so you could add a company card later on if needed.

    I think that’s what you mean’t but do let me know if I’ve misunderstood :)

    Dear gemmacevans,
    Thanks a lot for a prompt reply. Could I specify a bit more in detail?
    I am purchasing the Business plan here:https://wordpress.com/checkout/noframes2018.wordpress.com/business
    First, the website asks to fill in the Domain Contact Information, where one of the questions is “Choose the option that best describes your presence in the United Kingdom:” where I should choose UK Limited company but I am not able to provide our Trading Name neither Registration Number as the company is not registered yet. However, I need to work on the company website right now. Can I register as a foreign individual and later when the company is registered I will change the data somehow?

    I am trying to confirm whether or not the company details can be edited after the fact with domain registration. Your personal details can be changed, but I’m not sure about the company details like you mentioned.

    My suggestion is to go ahead and set up your business plan and just continue on with your free site address for the time being. Once you have the details together for the company, register the domain at that point.
