Add topic to favorites
Hi, I want to register “legouniverse.wordpress.com” ans start a blog there. I cannot, because the authors have deleted their site. This has been this way for a very long time, and I don’t think anyone is still wanting to use the site, so I was wondering if the WordPress staff would register it for me.

Deleted URL’s are gone forever and are not recycled

Why? That seems really un-fair, because that URL hasn’t been used in a very long time…

The reason why deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made is clearly stated in the support doc.

You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

That’s unfortunate. The thing is, that URL has not been registered in at least 3 years. I have been checking to see if they would open it up for registering, but I guess it never will… :(

Why? There are over 7 years worth of threads (32 pages) that state exactly what I stated and it’s exactly what’s stated in the support doc.
