Registered a URL but did not receive activation & now it is reserved
-
Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere but I have not been able to find it. I recently registered for the username and URL “viralfeminism” but did not receive the activation emails. When I retried it says that the address is reserved, yet when I try to login the username does not exist. I have tried to get the activation email resent but it does not recognise the email. Is there any way to see if someone else has reserved this address or for me to reclaim it?

When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account.
If and only if you have the matching username account then the blog is reserved for you and you will be able to log in appropriately and register it after logging in under the correct username account.
https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1However, if you changed your username then the blog URL will not be available for use under the new username account.

Thank you for quick response. I am fairly certain I registered the username, however did not receive the activation for it. When trying to login (or reset password) it says that username does not exist. But when trying to create that user, it says it already does. Same problem when repeated with email address instead of username. Can it be confirmed that the username does or does not exist (viralfeminism) and whether the email kealiemardell (@gmail or Hotmail.com) is the one attached to it? Many thanks

Am currently using another WordPress account (KealieMardell) as I cannot access the one I tried to register (Viralfeminism). Apologies for any confusion there

The registration got stuck, but if you try to login now you should be all set.
Let me know if you have any trouble.

Can you confirm which email address is linked to ViralFeminism as I am still not receiving the activation / password reset emails for the account? Thank you :)

Can you confirm which email address is linked to ViralFeminism
For security reasons I can’t give you that information. I can tell you password reset e-mails don’t always go to the inbox. If you log out of this WordPress.com account, then try to log in with the user name viralfeminism. If you remember the password you used, try that first. If that doesn’t work, click the “lost your password” link.
If you check the bulk mail/all mail folders on both accounts, you should find the password-reset e-mail.

I’m going to send you a private e-mail about this issue. Please look for my response there.
