Registered Domain Renewal

  Hi,

  I had a registered domain for my blog named otobetwentyone.com which expired on December 23rd or so.

  When it was time to renew, I could not afford to. However now I can, and would like to get it back. However when I try to add this domain to my account it says it is locked and I needs to be unlocked. I am afraid I do not know how.

  Can you help?

  Hi!

  When you miss renewal of a domain, the domain will not be released back to the pool for registration, but would rather be held through a series of checks: primarily grace period and redemption period. You can read about it here. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/

  Depending on your expiration date, it’s likely in redemption period and the staff will likely be able to answer further about it. If it’s in a redemption period, you will be charged $80 redemption fee to register the domain again.
