Registered domain with external registrar but unable to map on WordPress, help?

My domain is registered with an external registrar and has been pointed to the Name Servers:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMHowever, WordPress states that my domain is not registered when I typed my domain in to map it to lifepivotcounselling.wordpress.com.
Please help soon!

for starters we need the URL / domain name you are trying to map to your blog here before anyone can even start to help you
A common error in cases like yours is a spelling error in the domain name either when you registered it or when you are trying to map it

I have flagged this for the staff to help – sometimes they need to add a zone record for names like yours to be mapped

Yes, I have read those instructions and followed those that I can such as pointing to the name servers of WordPress. However, I could not even map my registered domain. Thanks for flagging this to the staff, auxclass!

They will reply in this thread, if there are privacy issues with any info they need they will send you and email requesting the info, but they will tell you about the email in this thread
The staff work requests from oldest to newest – so it is in your best interest to let this thread age and not post in it anymore – sorry not the easiest thing for you to do

That is very strange that you are not getting an option to map it! Our system generally automatically creates a zone file these days.
I have manually generated one now, so you should be able to go ahead and try purchasing domain mapping for lifepivot.com.sg. Let me know if it doesn’t work, and I’ll look in to this further.

Hi amightywp, could you provide instructions too on how to go about purchasing domain mapping? Do you mean that I need to purchase this first before my domain name would be recognized as registered to be mapped? What I have been doing was to type in “lifepivot.com.sg” and click to map domain and then was told it was not registered yet. Have I taken a wrong first step? Look forward to hearing from you.

Sounds like you might be using the wrong box when entering your domain name – please double check that you are putting in the domain name into a box that says to the effect “Map an existing domain”

As @auxclass mentioned, it may be that you are going about this incorrectly. We have a help article which walks you through the process right here:

Make sure that you log in to your Dashboard and go to Store >> My Domains and click “Map a Domain Name you already Own”. There you should be able to enter your domain name.

“Sorry but lifepivot.com.sg has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped.”
What else can I do? Thanks!

That is very strange! I’m sorry that our system appears to be having problems. Thanks for continuing to try and for giving me the error message you received.
I have put this in front of our developers and they are going to take a look at it, to see what might be going wrong. As soon as I have any additional information, I will let you know!
In the mean time, I have manually added domain mapping for your account, and it is currently working for your site. You should be able to visit lifepivot.com.sg and your site should come up without any difficulties!

Hi amightywp, thank you so much for helping me manually add the domain mapping for my account and surfacing the issue to the developers. I am able to visit http://www.lifepivot.com.sg (which is what I want) and the site came up. Can I safely say that the mapping is done and I can confirm my website address as “www.lifepivot.com.sg” already, as I need to confirm this detail soon? Kindly advise and assist.
