Registered for WordPress.com account but it’s not active after a few hours.

    Hi all,

    I signed up for a WordPress.com account a few minutes so I can get a WordPress API key to use with a new blog I’m working on. I’ve done this many times in the past and have never had problems before.

    This time, however, I’ve signed and the account still isn’t active after a few hours. The username and email address I’m using say they’re taken now, if I try to register them again – something’s worked I guess.

    What can I do about this? I need to get this blog up and running ASAP but I’m not 100% comfortable doing so without Akismet in and working properly.

    There are several people reporting issues with similar features. I think you’ll need to contact staff, either through the contact page at http://support.wordpress.com/contact or via email at support at wordpress dot com.
