Registered users vs. followers

  I am using WordPress.org, and I noticed that, instead of followers, I have ‘registered users’. They are also referred to as ‘subscribers’. Do they receive my blog posts by email as they did on WP.com? The blog I am asking about is GRUMPYBOOKREVIEWER.COM — NOT the gardening blog.

  These forums are where provide support for WordPress.com sites. However, support for self hosted sites is available on the WordPress.org support forums:
