Registering a domain with wordpress
-
Hi,
I want to use a customized domain for my word press blog . The domain upgrading fee is given here $ 13 per year. I want to know does it also covers the cost of registering a domain with wordpress or is it only for upgradation? Will I also be provided customized email address by wordpress like.. @my domain.com?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. What you get is a domain name and domain mapping from your .wordpress.com blog for one year when you must pay again to renew the upgrade prior to expiry. Please read these carefully:

Hi..thanks although through google application my custamised email issue is solved but I still have a doubt regarding the upgrading charges. Like if I purchase and register the domain from other other company like bigdddy etc, will I still have to pay the same charge(i.e,$13/ year) to the wordpress for mapping and upgradation this dmain?

You can purchase a domain name elsewhere but I doubt you will get it cheaper than what’s being offered here. If you do purchase a domain elsewhere then yes you do have to pay WordPress.com to map to it from your .wordpress.com blog. That’s clearly stated in the support documentation. Map an existing domain (one you already own) to your WordPress.com blog.
Registering a .com, .org, or .net domain through WordPress.com and mapping that domain to your blog starts at $18.00 per domain and per year, or $25.00 per domain and per year for a .me domain. For $8.00 more, you can also make the domain registration private.
Mapping a domain you already own costs $13.00 per domain, per year.
