Registering a new domain name

    I am having trouble registering a custom domain name for my site. The custom domain name is available but when I click Register Now, it tells me I need to select a plan for this site before you can register this domain. When I click on the select a plan link, the beginner Free plan is already chosen is indicates it is my current plan. I do not want to upgrade to the premium or business plan just for a custom domain name.

    Did you go via Store > My Domains from the dashboard? When I do that it tells me the price for just the domain registration is £12/$18 (and offers privacy protection as an option for an extra £6/$8). You don’t need to take out a plan, you can just pay for the single upgrade you need.

    Domains

    Your WordPress.com blog comes with a free address, like example.wordpress.com. You can get rid of the .wordpress.com part and use a custom domain name instead, like example.com. Adding a domain is a paid upgrade:

    Registering a domain through WordPress.com starts at $18.00 per domain, per year (see below for a detailed price list)
    Domain owners are required to share their contact information. The $8.00 Private Registration upgrade will protect your identity and hide your contact information.
    Adding a domain you already own costs $13.00 per domain, per year.

    Hey guys, ya I am trying to register the custom domain and pay the $18 fee but I am running into trouble.     Can you take a screenshot (or a couple) so we can see the stages leading up to exactly where you’re getting stuck?
