Registering Domain name and cost

Do I pay monthly for my domain name or do I have to pay for the full year upfront
I would like a more professional site and of course one way is your own domain name but
alot of other sites like blue host or go daddy want the full year upfront and just can’t afford that, can you pay month by month? If this has been answered apologies but could not find the answer by searching on the forums.website is http://nmarroushidesigns.wordpress.com/

Domain registration is annual. I have yet to find a domain registrar that supports monthly registration/fees.

With the exception of the Guided Transfer, all upgrades are per year and per blog.

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.
As you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

Hi timethief, thank you for the extra information I will keep a copy for when the time is right unfortunately my funds are non existent :( so I won’t be registering just yet but greatly appreciate the advice.

Not to worry because you don’t need to purchase a domain name to have a successful blog here. The SEO from blogging on a .wordpress.com domain, without or without domain mapping is huge.
