Registering my WordPress Blog

Sorry, new here and not so techie.

I have a blog – jakeena.com and it is my own domain bought from GoDaddy, and it is hosted by WordPress.

I want to follow blogs which I can do so in this website, but when I go to ‘Stats’ it says that I don’t have a blog yet, and the only option is to start a new one. But I do have one.

How can this website recognize my WordPress blog?

Please help, because I do want to follow blogs here, and I do want people to be able to follow mine back here to.

    Thanks!

http://jakeena.com/ is using software from WordPress.ORG but it is not hosted at WordPress.COM. This website, WordPress.COM will only recognize blogs hosted here.

    Hi Raincoaster, thanks for replying.

I still do want to be able to share my blog here as I think it’s helpful and it’s good to keep track of the community of bloggers that’s here, is there a way to do that. How can I have my WordPress.Org blog be recognized in this site?

Or for me, is it basically a one-way thing for me here – i.e. just being able to follow blogs?

    Thanks!

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

wordpress.com and wordpress.org are totally different. Can you explain what do you mean by “recognized”?

    Hi there,

I have friends who are on WordPress and they always ask me if they can follow my blog here, and I figured they should be able to as long as I sign up here? Not sure but I did, and when I went to ‘My Blogs’ it says I didn’t have a blog yet and needed to start one. Didn’t know there was a .com & .org difference. :)

The ‘recognized’ part I was hoping I could get here was having people be able to add my blog to their list, like how you can add/follow people on Twitter.

I guess I could then just sign up in ‘Blog Lovin’ for instance where it can recognize all blogs if none can be done here.

Thanks for the help and immediate reply.

    Jakeena :)

For clarity note that WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate. WordPress.com is a community of bloggers who have free blogs from and being free hosted by WordPress.com. WordPress.org supplies software only. Users have many paid different web hosts and do not constitute a community as each self hosted WordPress.org software install is free standing.

How can this website recognize my WordPress blog?

There is no registration process here for any blogs that are not provided by and free hosted by WordPress.com, as they are not a part of the WordPress.com community. Unlike WordPress.com blogs, which have shared in-house or community features thereby constituting a community WordPress.org blogs are stand alone islands. Consequently, you and your blog are not members of this blogging community and there is no means of including your blo0g here as it is not being hosted by WordPress.com.

We WordPress.com bloggers can follow any blogs we wish regardless of where they are hosted. Your friends can choose to follow your blog URL but you do not have any choice at all in this matter. Your blog is not going to be appearing in the Topics pages and promoted by WordPress.com because it is not a part of this community.

The ‘recognized’ part I was hoping I could get here was having people be able to add my blog to their list, like how you can add/follow people on Twitter. … I guess I could then just sign up in ‘Blog Lovin’ for instance where it can recognize all blogs if none can be done here.

Communities cenetered on blogging platforms with a common blog host and shared features like WordPress.com and Blogger are not in and of themselves social networks that are open to third party membership.

Thanks for the help and immediate reply.
