Registering New Email

    Hello,

    I unintentionally made an account with the email I intended to connect to this blog. I deleted the accidental blog but I am still unable to connect the used email to this account and receive a message that said email is unavailable to connect. Is there a way to clear the email tied to the accidental blog so that I can link it this blog?

    The site I need help with is fromthenortherntavern.wordpress.com.

    Hi there – An email address can only be attached to one WordPress.com account.

    The general idea to fix your issue is you will need to remove the email address from the other account. This will free it from our system so that you can then add it to the account you need. I’ve put the steps below.

    1. Log into the account the email is attached to.

    2. Remove the email address and replace it with a different email address. (It will need to be a legit email address that you can check and confirm the account email change from.)

    Once you have removed the email from the other WordPress.com account, that will free it up to use on the account you wish.

    Hello,

    Sorry for the confusing wording of my original post. My issue is that I have already deleted the account that I accidentally made and attached my email to. When I try to apply that email to my primary blog, however, it says the email is still in use.

    I am wondering how it can still be in use if the blog it was attached to has been deleted?

    Hi there,

    When you close an account the email address cannot be used until 30 days after the account closure has passed, at which point we purge the info from our system and you are safe to use it again for a new account.

    If you prefer, you can instead re-open your closed account (email us at passwordhelp@wordpress.com) and then you can set your closed account to a different email address, which will “free up” the address it is using now to be used with a new account instead.
